Description
1.0-tan, also known as Oichi, is the personification of Windows 1.0. She is one of the lesser-known OS-tans. The sister and friend of 3.1-tan, her hobbies include origami and Reversi. She has a retro, old-fashioned mindset and is profoundly nostalgic, often confused by the gap between past and present. When angered, she can produce laser beams from her eyes.
Appearance
1.0-tan is usually seen wearing a traditional Japanese kimono in red with a large yellow obi, pink bow head accessory in the style of flowers with white frills and white socks, supposedly tabi socks.

- Most fan works that have her tend to have her with 3.1-tan and sometimes 95-tan.
Notes and Trivia
- It has been said that her debut date is February 17th, 2007 according to the Futaba★Secondary Backstage wiki. While some other places may report this as false, there is an archived post from 2009 which backs up this claim that links back to the OG post from 2007.
- She is depicted as the matriarch of the Windows-tans.
- On the Futaba★Secondary Backstage wiki her birthday is listed as February 17th, 2007. While this is her debut date, an earlier Windows 1.0 design actually existed in 2006 on the 20th of August as seen in older thread archives. This design is a silhouette and was actually the basis used for C-Chan's Windows 1.0 by using the same hair style. This thread at OS-tan Collections confirms this (pages 1, 2 and 4). While Oichi is popular, that first 1st design predates Oichi by 5 months and is the first Windows 1.0 concept.
- She is listed as being Windows 1.0 only due to most artworks using Windows 1.0 but also the fact the some Japanese image sites use Windows 1.0. It is more common to see her called Oichi within Japan however.
